How It Works

At Lazy Daze Lifts, we’ve taken a fresh approach to boat lift design — using simple, reliable water power instead of motors, cables, or hydraulics. Our lifts operate on Pascal’s Law, harnessing the natural incompressibility of water to raise and lower your boat or jet ski with ease. No electricity, no harmful fluids, and no complicated machinery.

Each lift is built from heavy-duty, galvanized steel and designed to stand freely in the water — no pilings, no shoreline equipment, and no impact on your yard. The system is clean, quiet, and environmentally friendly, using just a standard garden hose to operate. With just a few moving parts and gravity latch. Lazy Daze Lifts make storing and launching your boat simple, safe, and stress-free.

Our Installation Process

Our team of experts handle every step of the installation — so you don’t have to worry about permits, pilings, or piecing things together on your own. Once your lift is ready, we bring it directly to your dock and install it on-site using specialized equipment to position and secure it in place. Because the system is freestanding, there’s no drilling, no anchoring into your dock, and no impact to your shoreline. The lift is carefully leveled and adjusted to match your specific dock height and water depth. Most installs are completed within the same day.

Once the lift is in position, we fully test the system to ensure smooth, balanced operation. Before we leave, we’ll show you exactly how to operate the controls, walk you through raising and lowering your boat, and make sure you feel completely confident using your new lift.

How To Raise Your Lift

To raise your lift, connect a hose from your home spigot to the lift. Water begins to fill the one-way hydraulic cylinder, pushing a piston and piston rod forward. This forward motion drives the cross tube and front H-frame, which in turn lifts the rear frame and upper bunk assembly carrying your boat.

As the upper frame moves up the gravity latch drops. This locks the lift in position, holding your boat safely and securely above the water. Once the latch is engaged, close the inlet valve, and your boat is now lifted.

How To Lower Your Lift

To lower the lift, open the inlet valve to allow enough water in the cylinder to slightly lift the weight off the latch. Pull the lanyard to release the latch, then close the inlet valve and open the outlet valve.

Water is released from the cylinder, causing the piston rod to retract. This gently lowers the cross tube, H-frames, and bunk assembly — bringing your boat back down into the water in a smooth, controlled motion. Once your boat reaches the desired level, close the outlet valve & you and your boat are ready to hit the waters.

More about our Lifts

Lazy Daze Lifts are proudly made in America with high-quality workmanship. Each lift is built with A500 cold-formed steel, reinforced with welded steel plates and stainless hardware. Galvanized steel construction and zinc anodes offer superior corrosion resistance, and every lift is backed by a 15-year freshwater and 10-year saltwater warranty.

The main frame weighs over 2,000 lbs and features 3/16″ rectangular tubing with 1/4″ steel reinforcement. Legs and bunks are 10 feet long with four adjustable height settings; 5″, 14″, 28″, and 38″. The 9/16″ cylinders are built for durability, and models offer a 3-foot or 5-foot swing depending on water type.

Designed for safety and convenience, all corners are rounded, and the recycled plastic bunks rinse clean easily. Lazy Daze Lifts are freestanding, portable, and adjustable — perfect if you relocate or change boats. Fewer moving parts mean less maintenance and more time on the water.
